Clerk support required

An exciting local opportunity. The directors are looking to engage a self-employed person for 20 hours per week to undertake administrative support to our charity. 


Currently the role is largely home based although there are set times in each month for director meetings and meetings with residents.

You will work to support the directors in the areas of:

  • Governance
  • Day to day responses to email and phone enquiries
  • Maintaining Statutory registers 
  • Office duties e.g. keeping documents up to date, setting agendas, keeping minutes
  • Attending meetings with directors, other local charities and residents
  • Working with our property company to ensure repairs and maintenance, contracts and property logs are kept up to date
  • Communications with stakeholders and contractors
  • Supporting our provision to our residents and beneficiaries
  • Working with our book keeper to ensure invoices are paid

We are looking for candidates with experience in any of the following areas:

  • Office IT – email, word processing, basic spreadsheet, electronic filing 
  • Office management
  • A laptop and phone are provided

Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and diligence. The role is varied, requires initiative with both independent and team working. Experience of, or interest in, social housing or the almshouse movement would be beneficial.
