The charity’s new almshouses at More’s Meadow have been announced regional winner of the LABC 2024 Award for Best Small Social Housing Development – and are among the shortlisted finalists for the national prize to be announced in January.
LABC (Local Authority Building Control) sets out standards and practices around building regulations, design, safety and sustainability.
Since opening to residents in early 2022 the 21 new almshouse homes have won three prestigious awards: the Almshouse Association picked More’s Meadow for its Inspirational Homes Award recognising innovation in planning, design, quality of build and value for money; this was followed by Eastern Echo awarding More’s Meadow its prize of Best Residential Development.
“We are thrilled that More’s Meadow has picked up these awards in recognition of the charity’s ambition to develop attractive, high quality, affordable homes for local people,” said Jaspaul Hill, Chair of Great Shelford Village Charity.
