On Thursday 3rd July on a beautiful sunny morning More’s Meadow 2 (MM2) was officially opened. Invited guests included residents and individuals who had made More’s Meadow 2 possible. We also had a very special guest unveil our plaque, His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO who is the Vice Royal Patron to The Almshouse Association. It was wonderful to complete MM2 with a community event and to hear the air filled with happy celebration. Two lasting reminders of the event will be permanently in place including the plaque that will be fitted soon for all to see and a crab apple tree planted on the central green at MM2.
On the same afternoon of the 3rd July our community celebration continued welcoming all our residents to enjoy the summer with us. Individuals, families, young and old dropped in to the marquee next to Pearson Terrace for a chat and some refreshments provided by another local charity Turtle Dove. The lemon meringue and chocolate cake being firm favourites. It was wonderful to enjoy the views of our greenspace and meet up all together.
