Thank you, Co-op and Co-op members

Saturday November 20, 2021

The charity was very pleased to receive just over £2000 from Shelford Co-op’s Local Community Fund. The money will be spent on further improvements to our community garden and orchard, in particular, on native trees and shrubs, as well as a new bench.

Trustee Keith Sugden was presented with the cheque in Great Shelford Co-op

“The Co-op has pledged further support next year when we have plans to establish a bird meadow to provide seed- and insect-rich habitat, as well as bird boxes and – possibly – even a swift tower”, said trustee, Keith Sugden.

Key to the ongoing success of this scheme is that Co-op members list Great Shelford Parochial Charities as their local cause. Then, not only does 2p for every £1 spent go into one’s own membership account, but the same amount is split between local causes such as ours.

Co-op members can help by going to https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes and selecting Great Shelford Parochial Charities as their local cause.
